Pedicures & Pregnancy

Pedicures & Pregnancy

A woman's body goes through many changes during a pregnancy. Due to the size and shape of the area where she is carrying the baby it may be very difficult to take care of their feet properly. This can leave a woman feeling very unattractive and even worried. She may wonder how she is going to give birth with her feet in the stirrups and they are dry and cracked.

Getting a pedicure during the last stages of pregnancy when you can't do it on your own is a great way to take care of this issue. Yet many women are stressed about the cost of a new baby. Therefore they aren't going to spend that amount of money on themselves. You can get a pedicure spa for the home though for about $20. There are various lotions and salts you can add to it.

A husband can often feel helpless during the final stages of the pregnancy. They definitely want to help make their wife as comfortable as possible. Ask them to give you a pedicure every couple of weeks. Sorry, but most guys won't think of this on their own so you will have to ask them to do it for you. It is a  great way for the two of you to spend some time together. Your feet will feel great and they love being able to offer you something that you can't do for yourself right now.

If you are thinking of a great gift to give a mom to be at a baby shower, why not one for herself? A gift certificate to get a pedicure at the mall or a day spa is perfect. You can even schedule an appointment for the two of you and have a great time sharing the experience. In fact, this may offer her more than just nice looking feet.

Many spas now have reflexology as part of a pedicure as well. This is a process where they gently apply pressure to the legs all the way up to the knees. This is a great to allow a pregnant woman to be able to relieve some of the pain and stress that has been building up. It can help to get blood flowing to the ankles and feet more too. This will help to reduce swelling.
